The Division of Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, is seeking a candidate for a Senior Associate Consultant faculty position to advance digital pathology aligning with institutional and departmental priorities on computational pathology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital strategy in healthcare. The position will advance data science and informatics in clinical and translational research, education and practice transformation through methodology advancement and/or multidisciplinary team collaboration in practice, education, and research. The successful candidate will also serve as a laboratory co-director in one or more of the clinical laboratories in the Division.
Qualified individuals should possess an M.D. or a Ph.D. in immunology, biochemistry, or a related field, and have at least 3 years of experience in developing advanced computational algorithms in digital pathology and AI. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Chemistry and/or Clinical Pathology. Candidates should also possess a background in machine learning and programming, along with a demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a digital pathology project, including coordination, data acquisition and analysis, software development, and documentation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and partner with teams of scientists and other healthcare professionals are essential.
The Division of Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology includes 17 clinical laboratorians and pathologists who oversee 8 clinical laboratories providing a broad range of diagnostic testing for both the internal Mayo Clinic practice and the Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) reference laboratory.
